The month of February has been filled with 2025 targets setting their official visits to Chapel Hill for this summer. The latest to join that group is one of the team’s most recent offers out of the state of Virginia.
Unranked DL Christian Evans announced on Wednesday that he will be officially visiting the Tar Heels the weekend of June 7th. He became the eighth prospect to set his official visit for that weekend and the second player from the state of Virginia to set one.
Evans is still in the early stages of his recruitment, but it appears that the Tar Heels are off to a good start. Virginia may hold the slight advantage simply because they were the first ones in on him, but the Tar Heels are right in the thick of this one after getting him to set his official visit eight days after being offered. It feels like there is a long way to go in this race, but getting involved early can only help the team’s chances if they ultimately end up making the push to add him to the class.
The Tar Heels already have thirteen targets that have set their official visits in the 2025 class. That number should only be expected to grow as we enter the month of March with three of their commits yet to lock their trips in and countless of other targets from in-state and key pipeline states like Georgia and Virginia also still deciding.
