Heel Tough Blog: UNC Offers Top Dual-Sport Athlete

HighSchoolOT.com

The Tar Heels are still waiting to land their first commitment of the 2025 recruiting class, but that doesn’t mean Carolina isn’t focused on other recruiting classes in the meantime. Hubert Davis has been active offering multiple players in the 2026 recruiting class, and that continued today, as they offered Kendre Harrison, a dual sport athlete from the state. Harrison has also been offered by football head coach, Mack Brown, as he’s the No. 6 overall football player from the state while being the No. 1 tight end from the state. On the basketball court, Harrison is ranked as the No. 31 overall player, and the No. 6 power forward.

This past season, Harrison helped lead Reidsville to the 2A football championship, along with the basketball championship, where he averaged over 19 points and 15 rebounds. Harrison becomes the third player to receive an offer from Hubert Davis in the 2026 class, joining Tyran Stokes, and fellow in-state prospect, Cole Cloer.

In a conversation with Inside Carolina, Harrison expressed that his recruitment will depend on being able to play both sports at whichever school he commits to and that wherever he commits, they can develop him into being either an NFL or NBA prospect. It's been a while since the Tar Heels have had that type of high-profile dual sport athlete, but they aren't foreign to the idea, putting them in a position to be prime contenders for his commitment as his recruitment moves along.
