After making the final schools for Andrej Stojakovic earlier this week, the former McDonald’s All-American, and Stanford transfer, surprisingly chose Cal over both UNC and Kentucky. His choosing Cal means that Carolina will see him in the ACC next season, but it wasn’t expected for him to stay on the West Coast, with two blue-blood powers involved. Carolina went back to Stanford, after it worked out well last season in the form of Harrison Ingram, and even used Ingram during their transfer portal recruitment, but it didn’t work out as they hoped it would.
The Stojakovic news follows a day when Hubert Davis was reportedly in Lexington, Kentucky, as they continue to pursue Adou Thiero. Carolina has been aggressively recruiting the former Wildcat even before Harrison Ingram opted to declare for the NBA Draft, but after he made it known he was going pro, they’ve made him a priority, along with their pursuit of a big man.
Just last weekend, Belmont transfer Cade Tyson was on campus for a visit, but nothing has developed since then. This weekend, Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi is on campus, as he’s one of two big men Carolina is involved with.
