The Tar Heels are off to a hot start in the 2026 class and the team is now a finalist for one of the biggest players in the class.
As reported by Brian Dohn of 247Sports, the Tar Heels are one of three schools remaining for 2026 IOL Anthony Hall. The Tar Heels are joined by Rutgers and Tennessee in the battle for the top prospect in the state of Massachusetts.
Hall, who they call “Big U-Hall” because of his size at 6’4, 340 lbs., just finished his junior season at Dexter Southfield High School in Brookline, MA where he earned first team All-NEPSAC and All-Evergreen League honors. The previous year, as a sophomore, Hall earned an All-Evergreen honorable mention for his efforts.
When it comes to where things stand in this race, it feels like the Tar Heels have a pretty strong shot to eventually land his commitment. Rutgers might be the team with the slight advantage right now, but it is clear that Belichick’s presence is a big deal for Hall.
