The Tar Heels are beginning to get things rolling on the spring transfer trail. Last night, the team landed one of the top edge rushers in the class and earlier this week they extended an offer to one of the top wide receivers on the market.

As he stated via his social media on Tuesday evening, the Tar Heels have officially extended an offer to Campbell transfer wide receiver Sincere Brown. Brown, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, announced he was entering the portal on Monday night. Since entering, Brown has been offered by UNC, West Virginia, California, Utah, Louisville and Texas A&M.

Brown, who is currently unranked in the 247Sports transfer rankings, entered the portal following a breakout season in 2024 where he 61 passes for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns. In his lone game this season against an FBS opponent, he caught five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown against the Liberty Flames. In the prior four years at the college level, the first three of which were spent at South Florida, Brown registered just one catch for 19 yards which came during the 2020 season as a true freshman.

While Brown seems to be a late bloomer, this seems to be a worthwhile shot for this staff to take if they can pull it off. The team is in need of guys who can stretch the field vertically and that is what Brown did best this past season for Campbell. His experience will also be welcome to a room that doesn’t have much with the departures of Nate McCollum and J.J. Jones, who lost his appeal with the NCAA for an extra year.
