Heel Tough Blog: Top 2024 Prospect Set to Commit Tomorrow

The New York Times

Even though the college basketball, and high school basketball seasons are in full swing, the news on the recruiting trail never stops, and tomorrow UNC could land a late Christmas gift, in the form of Elliot Cadeau, a five-star point guard in the 2024 class. Cadeau is one of the more sought-after recruits of the 2024 class, as he’s regarded as the No.1 overall point guard according to 247Sports while being the No.8 overall player, and the No.1 player from the state of Missouri.

Cadeau stands at 6-1, while weighing 165 pounds, and is more a traditional type of point guard, as opposed to being a scoring dominant guard. He has been recruited by virtually every major program from every major conference, as his last official visit was to Louisville back on October 21st, after visiting UNC back on October 7th. In addition to visiting those ACC schools, Cadeau also visited Texas, Texas Tech, and Baylor from the Big 12. He was believed to be a lock for Texas, but some off-the-court issues with Longhorns head coach, Chris Beard, opened the door, and as a result, Cadeau received two crystal ball predictions from 247Sports for North Carolina.

Cadeau would be the second five-star commitment for Hubert Davis, as he currently has Simeon Wilcher signed for next year’s class. There is a belief that Cadeau could reclassify and join whichever program he commits to next season, and even if that place happens to be UNC, wouldn’t phase Hubert Davis, who desires to play a three-guard lineup, on a routine basis.
