The 2023 recruiting class for Hubert Davis already consists of multiple five-star players in Gregory “GG” Jackson, and Simeon Wilcher, as Hubert Davis has restored the UNC program as a recruiting force in just over a year on the job. That class can grow stronger with the commitment of fellow five-star forward, Matas Buzelis who will announce his commitment this Friday at midnight. Buzelis who stands at 6-9, will choose between UNC, Kentucky, Florida State, Wake Forest, or the G-League. Buzelis is currently ranked as the number 7 overall player in the 2023 cycle while being ranked as the third-best small forward, and the top player from New Hampshire, all according to 247Sports.
Carolina offered Buzelis in August of 2021, and after landing, Jackson was perceived to be one of the favorites for his services, although he never once visited Chapel Hill. The aforementioned 247Sports has crystal balled Buzelis to skip playing collegiately and play in the G-League.
