The Tar Heels are still in the midst of a late push on the 2025 recruiting trail and the staff has its newest target that it is locked in on.
2025 3✮ WR Kenedy Uzoma received an official offer from the Tar Heels staff on Sunday and almost immediately set his first visit to campus which is set for this weekend in Chapel Hill. The offer and visit come after he decommitted from Minnesota earlier this month after the Golden Gophers took him as a “gray shirt” member of their 2025 class, which basically reclassified him to the 2026 class.
The Tar Heels will head into the visit as the favorites after a prediction was cast in their favor on Wednesday morning. 247Sports national recruiting analyst cast a crystal ball with a confidence level of six earlier today, making the Tar Heels the favorite to bring in the wide receiver who wants to play for the Tar Heels according to Dohn, in large part because of the fact that no other school has really expressed interest.
Uzoma recently finished his lone season at St. John’s Catholic School in Buckeystown, MD with 817 receiving yards and eleven receiving touchdowns on 34 receptions and 24 total tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, one pass defensed and one forced fumble while playing both wide receiver and edge rusher for the team. Prior to that, he spent his first three high school seasons at High Point High School in Beltsville, MD playing both sides of the ball there as well.
Barring something shocking, the Tar Heels should land him this weekend, giving them a second wide receiver commit in this class and another high-upside player that is relatively risk-free.
