While Tar Heel basketball is the biggest focus in the transfer portal right now, the Tar Heel football program is also hitting the portal looking for more help for Bill Belichick’s first season in Chapel Hill.

On Friday night, On3 Sports transfer portal reporter Pete Nakos reported that Stanford transfer wide receiver Mudia Reuben’s agency has told them that he will be visiting Chapel Hill in the “upcoming days”. Reuben is currently in the midst of a visit to West Virginia and is also expected to visit South Florida some time in the near future.

Reuben, who entered the portal back on March 28th following the dismissal of head coach Troy Taylor, spent the last three seasons with the Cardinal. In 2022, as a freshman, he played in all twelve games, mostly on special teams, catching just five passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns. The next year, as a sophomore, he played in ten games, starting three of them, and hauled in 15 passes for 199 yards but failed to find the endzone. This past season, he was set to take on a significant role for the team, but suffered a season-ending injury in the third game of the season. He finished the year with just four catches for 31 yards and a touchdown, which he scored in the opener against Cal Poly.

Reuben would give the Tar Heels a veteran that could compete for snaps at the outside receiver spots, an area where the team lacks experience currently.
