The Tar Heels are still searching for a veteran receiver to add to that room alongside Kobe Paysour and they may have locked in on that guy.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the Tar Heels will be one of four teams scheduled to host Penn State wide receiver transfer Harrison Wallace III. Per Tar Heel general manager Michael Lombardi, Wallace will be on campus Friday before heading to Texas A&M on Saturday and South Carolina on Sunday. He is also expected to visit Louisville at some point before making a decision. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
This year was a breakout season for Wallace III, who caught 46 of his 77 targets for 720 yards and four touchdowns, all of which were the most by a receiver for the Nittany Lions. This followed a sophomore season where he caught 19 of his 26 targets for 228 yards and a touchdown in eight games. As a redshirt freshman he put together similar production, catching 19 of his 35 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown.
This would be a nice veteran addition to go along with Paysour and the young talent in this Tar Heel receiving room, but the staff has their work cut out for them. Texas A&M already has four transfer receivers committed, so that could hurt them a little, but it feels like everyone who gets a visit will have a legitimate shot to land his commitment.
