The Tar Heels extended an offer on Wednesday to 2026 3✮ ATH Jett Goldsberry and just a couple of hours later, they have already landed an official visit with him.
As Goldsberry announced via social media, the Tar Heels will host him officially on the weekend of June 20th. This will close down an official visit schedule that involves visits to Purdue (May 30th) and Vanderbilt (June 12th).
Goldsberry, the No. 473 overall prospect and No. 29 athlete in the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, IN. This past season, as a junior, he threw for 1,807 yards, 26 touchdowns and just four interceptions and ran for 1,676 yards and 28 touchdowns on 155 carries in fifteen games as the team’s starting quarterback. On defense, he tallied 58 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception, two passes defensed and a forced fumble. For his effort, he was named first team All-Pac and All-State teamand was named the Male Athlete of the Year by the Courier & Press in Evansville. In 2023, he threw for 1,206 yards, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions and ran for 1,351 yards and 20 touchdowns. Defensively, he collected 80 total tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions and five passes defensed.
Back in 2022, when he was a freshman, he threw for just 280 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions and ran for 232 yards and six touchdowns on 58 rush attempts. Defensively, he compiled 74 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and three passes defensed.
The Tar Heels have to feel pretty good about their chances in this recruitment with how quickly Goldsberry scheduled his official visit. Now the question is, can they beat out in-state Purdue for this one?
