The Tar Heel football program announced some important news on the next two weekends of spring football earlier this week.
Tomorrow’s practice will be televised on the ACC Network and head coach Mack Brown said earlier in the week that it will be a practice as opposed to a scrimmage in an effort to not give opposing teams any film to go off of. Because of that, the team moved their second scrimmage of the spring, which usually takes place the Saturday before the spring, up to Thursday.
Tomorrow will be the lone chance that Tar Heel fans will get to see the team in action on their televisions. The program announced on Thursday that next Saturday’s spring game will not be televised or stream anywhere. That means that fans will need to make their way to Chapel Hill to watch the team’s final scrimmage of the spring.
The fact that the event will not be televised in any way should allow the staff to conduct a more normal spring game than they have in the past and even showcase a little more to the fans than the vanilla stuff they run to not give anything away to the opponent. This will also allow the staff to decide themselves how long they want to go, which could allow them to get looks at guys deeper on the depth chart,
something they really couldn’t do in years past..
Tomorrow’s practice will begin at 10:00 AM and will be on the air for two hours. Next weekend’s spring game will start at 3:00 PM.
