National Signing Day for the 2025 class might be in the books, but that doesn’t mean that the staff is done adding players to the roster.
As he posted on his social media earlier this evening, 2025 unranked long snapper Jacob Tannenbaum has committed to UNC over offers from Boston College, Tulane and Washington.
Tannenbaum, the No. 135 ranked long snapper according to Rubio Long Snapping, just recently concluded his prep career at Choate Rosemary Hall School in Wallingford, Connecticut. In his four seasons at the high school level, Tannenbaum, the son of former Jets GM and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum, spent his time playing both football and lacrosse, but the belief is that he will focus on football here with the Tar Heels.
Here is the breakdown from Rubio Long Snapping on him. "He is a tall snapper that is dripping with potential once he ties it all together. Jacob does a great job with his upper body in his snap. He has a very direct ballpath and does a nice job getting to and holding his finish. I would love to see Jacob incorporate his lower body more in his snap. He has a very strong lower half and should see an instant improvement in his speed once he uses his lower half to his advantage."
Tannebaum becomes the 28th member of the Tar Heels’ 2025 class and will hope to provide some depth behind redshirt freshman Grant Mills this season.
