The departures for the Tar Heels just keep on coming, this time along the offensive line.

As first reported by Inside Carolina, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Desmond Jackson has entered his name in the transfer portal. He will have four years of eligibility remaining wherever he eventually lands.

Jackson, a former 3✮ prospect, departs Chapel Hill after spending the last year and a half with the program. This past season, he did not see a single snap after choosing the Tar Heels over Louisville, Georgia Tech and others. Jackson was a two-time all-conference and all-state selection in his four year high school career at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, NC.

Jackson was buried on the depth chart last year and appeared to be in a similar spot this spring leading to the transfer. His departure doesn’t have a major impact on this year’s team, especially with the depth that they have along the offensive line right now.
