Heel Tough Blog: Tar Heels Lose Second Commitment in Less Than a Day

Kheny Visuals

At this time yesterday, the Tar Heels had two tight ends committed to their 2025 class, but things have gone downhill quickly since.

Last night, 3✮ TE Logan Farrell flipped his commitment from UNC and Illinois, a move that came as a bit of a surprise after little talk about this prior to it happening.

Just hours later, the team’s lone remaining tight end commit, 4✮ Marshall Pritchett Jr. made his anticipated flip to Alabama official via social media. This comes just a couple of weeks after he visited Tuscaloosa for the team’s victory over Georgia. Pritchett had been committed to UNC since April and was a strong recruiter for the program for the majority of that time.

With him gone, the team is now down to just 12 commitments in the 2025 class and has fallen all the way to No. 60 overall and No. 15 in the ACC in the 247Sports Composite team rankings for the class. The team will almost certainly go without a tight end commit in this cycle, something that is far from ideal with two members of the room expected to leave at the conclusion of the season.

The other name to keep an eye on for a decommitment in the near future is 3✮ LB Anthony Kruah. He has visited Georgia each of the last two weeks and has been trending towards them for the last couple of weeks.
