The Tar Heels have said goodbye to four players in the transfer portal today and the most recent one might be the most noteworthy one for fans.
As first reported by Mike Farrell of MikeFarrellSports.com, redshirt freshman quarterback Tad Hudson has entered the transfer portal. The former 4★ QB prospect later confirmed the move on social media. He has four years of eligibility remaining.
Hudson was the third quarterback on the depth chart last year behind Drake Maye and Conner Harrell and did not see any snaps this season. The team brought in Michael Merdinger this past recruiting cycle and Brown said in his presser last Tuesday that the true freshman had beat Hudson out. With Harrell, Max Johnson and Merdinger as the three man depth chart for this season and 4★ Bryce Baker set to join the team next year, this room is still in great shape.
