Heel Tough Blog: Tar Heels Lose Another OL to Transfer Portal

Ahead of tomorrow’s official opening of the transfer portal, the Tar Heels have received news that a third offensive lineman will be putting his name in to seek other opportunities following Mack Brown’s departure.

True freshman offensive lineman Andrew Rosinski announced on Sunday evening via social media that he will be transferring after spending just one season in Chapel Hill where he did not see the field for a single snap. He will have four years of eligibility remaining wherever he ends up.

While it may seem like this isn’t much of a loss because he didn’t play, Rosinski did have a lot of upside as a versatile piece along the offensive line. He spent his high school career at tackle where he had plenty of success on the way to becoming a high-end 3✮ prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Upon arriving to campus, though, Rosinski was moved to center where he showed some nice promise in the spring with the second team unit.

The bigger concern is that this is now the third member of the offensive line to reveal that he will enter the portal on Monday, joining fellow interior lineman Zach Greenberg and tackle Eli Sutton. The good news is that the unit is only expected to lose Willie Lampkin and Jonathan Adorno outside of that, both to graduation, and has two signees all the offensive line in the 2025 early signing class. It wouldn’t be a shock, though, if the Tar Heels dip into the portal for an interior offensive lineman with a little bit of experience that can compete for that vacant right guard spot which now has fewer members of this year’s roster to compete for it.
