The Tar Heels saw a lot of entries to the portal last night, but this morning they dipped into it to add a talented young receiver.

As first reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, the Tar Heels have landed a commitment from Colorado transfer wide receiver Adrian Wilson, who entered the portal yesterday morning. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Wilson, a former 4✮ recruit in the 2025 class, spent the spring with the Buffaloes after flipping his commitment to them back in October. Prior to that, he was committed to TCU, Oregon and Arizona State before eventually settling on Boulder as his destination.

Wilson, the No. 306 overall prospect and No. 40 wide receiver in the 2025 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Weiss High School in Pflugerville, TX. This past season, as a senior he caught 47 passes for 985 yards and 14 touchdowns while helping Weiss finish the season 8-3. The year prior, he hauled in 51 receptions for 927 yards and 14 touchdowns for a team that finished with a 9-2. As a sophomore in 2022, he caught 28 passes for 547 yards and eight touchdowns.

This is a very solid addition for the Tar Heels from a talent standpoint, but does not bring the experience that this room needs. Still, with the losses that the team suffered this offseason at the position, there will be an opportunity for Wilson to earn some playing time early as a deep threat if he can impress in fall camp.
