The Tar Heels are in the process of getting official visits scheduled with some of their top targets in the 2026 class and they added another name to their summer schedule on Wednesday night.

Per a post on his social media account last night, 2026 WR Darrion Kirksey has set his official visit to Chapel Hill for June 22-24. As of right now, this is the only official visit that he is scheduled to take, although hometown Ole Miss and Arkansas could land themselves official visits here in the near future if they want them.

Kirksey, who is currently unranked according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, MS. This past season, as a junior, he caught 35 passes for 569 yards and two touchdowns as part of a passing game that completed just 45.6% of its passes for 1,394 yards and four touchdowns in ten games. In 2023, as a sophomore, he hauled in 12 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns while playing in just seven games.

As of right now, it’s hard not to have the Tar Heels as the favorite in his recruitment considering it is the only school that he currently has an unofficial visit and official visit scheduled with publicly. Unless there is a push from Ole Miss or Arkansas, this feels like one that the Tar Heels might get done in April during that unofficial visit.
