Following an unofficial visit over the weekend, the Tar Heels have landed an official visit with one of their top linebacker targets.
2026 4✮ LB Theron “TJ” White confirmed to the Heel Tough Blog earlier today that he has scheduled his official visit to Chapel Hill for the weekend of April 11th. This decision comes after White took his first unofficial trip to campus over the weekend and was very impressed by what he saw from Bill Belchick and his staff.
That official visit will be the start of an expansive official visit schedule that will continue the first weekend of June. White will visit Wisconsin (May 30th-June 2nd), Florida State (June 6th-8th), Tennessee (June 13th-15th) and Mississippi State (June 20th-22nd).
White, the No. 155 overall prospect and No. 10 linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Jackson Academy in Jackson, MS. This past season, as a junior, White finished with 102 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery on the way to earning MAIS 6A All State Football First Team honors. The year prior, as a sophomore, he collected 63 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, an interception, three passes defensed and a forced fumble.
White seems to be focused on the five schools that he is set to officially visit and the Tar Heels have to feel pretty good about where they’re at exiting the weekend. Right now, On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the team a 12.0% chance to land his commitment, which sits behind Mississippi State (28.5%), Florida State (20.9%) and Tennessee (14.4%). Still, this feels like a pretty open race that the Tar Heels have a legitimate shot in.
