Heel Tough Blog: Tar Heels Land in 2025 5✮ SF's Top Nine

Soru Media

The recruiting cycle never stops no matter the sport, and even though Carolina is about to start their 2023-24 season, they are still actively recruiting for the future. Last week, the Tar Heels officially offered the No. 1 player in the 2025 class, and last night, they got some good news, as they made the final nine, for 2025 forward, Isiah Harwell. Harwell is a 6-5, five-star forward, and is ranked as the No. 7 player overall in the class, the No. 2 small forward, and the No. 1 player from the state of Utah. Among the nine schools he’s going to choose from, include Alabama, Baylor, Cal, Gonzaga, Houston, Idaho State, Houston, Texas, UCLA, and of course North Carolina. Just by judging from the list of teams, teams in the Midwest or on the West Coast, are going to have an upper hand in his recruitment. Nonetheless, this is a good sign, that following Carolina’s down 2022-23 season, it hasn’t impacted the program on the recruiting trail, as the top players are still interested in playing their basketball in Chapel Hill.

Harwell is one of nine players that Carolina has offered in the 2025 class, with all of them being five-star prospects. The others include the Boozer twins (Cameron and Cayden), Jasper Johnson, Caleb Wilson, Koa Peat, Bryson Tiller, AJ Dybantsa, and Darryn Peterson.

Stay tuned to the Heel Tough Blog for the latest Carolina Basketball recruiting updates.
