The Tar Heels have a lot of holes that they have to fill on their roster currently with one of the big ones being the starting outside corner job opposite of Marcus Allen. On Monday, it was revealed that the team is pushing to fill that spot with one of the top corners in the portal.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, the Tar Heels are one of five options still remaining on the table for Washington transfer cornerback Thaddeus Dixon. Michigan, Ole Miss and Tennessee are the others that remain in the hunt to land him as a transfer and there is still a possibility that he could return to Washington. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Dixon spent the last two seasons in Seattle with the Huskies after transferring in from Long Beach Community College where he played the first two years of his career. In 2023, he finished the season with 26 total tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, one interception and five pass breakups while allowing 25 of his 40 receptions to be caught for 315 yards and four touchdowns in 361 snaps. This season, Dixon earned All-Big 12 honorable mention after an outstanding season where he finished with 43 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception and ten pass breakups while allowing just 23 of his 51 targets to be caught for 237 yards and two touchdowns in 751 snaps.

Dixon would be the perfect fit for what the Tar Heels need right now at corner and would give the team another headliner to go along with his former teammate Khmori House. The Tar Heels will have their work cut out, though.
