The Tar Heels continued their hot streak in the transfer portal this morning, landing their fourth commitment in as many days.
Per Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, Michigan transfer kicker Adam Samaha has signed with Bill Belichick and UNC as of this morning. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
In his two seasons in Ann Arbor, Samaha has only kicked one time, nailing an extra point in the team’s 2023 blowout victory against Indiana. This season he did not see any action, leading to his decision to transfer. Coming out of high school, he was the No. 7 kicker in the 2023 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ Composite Player Rankings and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl where he hit a 49-yard field goal.
This might not be the veteran kicker that many were looking to add, but this will at least provide a challenge in that room for true freshman Lucas Osada, who will handle the kicking duties for the team in the bowl game, and sophomore Liam Boyd.
