The Tar Heels are still working to put together their staff and they will add another job to that list after an expected member of their player personnel staff.
As first reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Taylor Edwards, who was expected to join Bill Belichick’s staff as part of the player personnel department according to a report by Inside Carolina, will instead be taking a high-ranking position in the Miami player personnel department.
Edwards was the Director of Player Personnel for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2021-24, but resigned following the program self-reporting a Level III NCAA violation. The violation reportedly stemmed from communication with a four-year student athlete prior to his official entry into the transfer portal.
With Edwards heading to Miami, Belichick and the rest of the front office staff adds another position that they have to fill to an already lengthy list that still has to come together. It’s not time to panic, but it does appear things are coming as easy to Belichick as he thought they would at this level.
