There won’t be a dry eye in the Smith Center tonight when Armando Bacot, RJ Davis and five others will be honored on Senior Night ahead of the final home game of the season against Notre Dame.

Prior to tonight’s events, Davis received another national recognition for what has been an outstanding senior season. He was named one of the five finalists for the Jerry West Award, which is given to the best shooting guard in the country each year. He joins former teammate Caleb Love, Kansas’s Kevin McCullar Jr., Kentucky’s Antonio Reeves and Michigan State’s Tyson Walker as those still in the running for the award that will be handed out on a date that has yet to be determined. Fans can vote on the award starting this Friday and the fan vote will count as one committee vote in the final decision.

Davis enters tonight’s game as the leading scorer in the ACC at 21.4 points per game, a number that also ranks top ten nationally. He is shooting 42.9% from the field and 41.1% from three, the best mark of his career so far. He is also averaging a career-low 1.6 turnovers per game, while dishing out 3.4 assists per contest.
