The Tar Heels are still in search of their first commitment in the 2025 class and their top target in the class might be able to do that next week.
Earlier this evening, 2025 4✮ WR Malik Clark announced via social media that he will be revealing his decision next Thursday at a ceremony at Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, SC. The Tar Heels are one of four teams that will have a chance of landing him heading into the decision. They’ll be joined by Florida State, NC State and South Carolina, the three other schools that he officially visited back in June. He was a part of the group that visited Chapel Hill back on the weekend of June 7th.
Clark, the No. 223 overall prospect and No. 26 wide receiver in the 2025 class according to 247Sports, would be a welcome addition to Lonnie Galloway’s room. This past season, he caught 46 passes for 800 yards and nine touchdowns while earning second team All-Herald honors and an All-State honorable mention.
The Tar Heels should be cautiously optimistic about their chances to be the pick next Thursday. The team owns three forecasts between the three major recruiting sites and the fellow commits in the class have established a strong connection with him as well. The reason for cautious optimism is that Hale McGranahan, the 247Sports reporter for The Big Spur, put in a crystal ball prediction in favor of South Carolina earlier this evening. This will be something to monitor over the next couple of days to see if others start to head in that direction as well.
