Wednesday is national signing day for the class of 2023 throughout the world of college football, as the prep players take the stage for a day in the midst of a busy offseason. The Tar Heels have already added a commitment from one of their few remaining targets, 3✮ DL Rodney Lora, on Tuesday, meaning all of the attention will be on the team’s final uncommitted target, 3✮ RB Jordan Louie.
Louie was a player that the Tar Heels jumped into the running for back in late November and immediately became a serious contender for his services along with Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The former West Virginia commit started his official visit schedule with a trip to Nashville the first weekend of the month before he headed to Chapel Hill for a visit the following weekend. He was scheduled to close it out this past weekend with a trip to Lexington, but instead canceled that visit and instead announced his top three and signing day decision. That move seemed to suggest a lot about just how well his trip to Carolina went.
Louie will be deciding between Carolina, Vanderbilt and West Virginia tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM EST at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, GA. The Tar Heels will head in as the favorite to land his commitment, as backed up by the recent crystal ball predictions that have rolled in. Both of the crystal ball predictions that were cast today were in favor of the Tar Heels and were coupled with a confidence level of six. The Tar Heels also holds both of the Rivals FutureCast predictions that have been cast for him and the lone prediction from On3 Sports.
This addition would be a nice cherry on top for a class that has had its ebbs and flows, but, at the end of day tomorrow, should still rank inside of the top 25 for this cycle.
Prediction: North Carolina
