Last week saw four of the Tar Heels targets in the 2025 class set their official visits for this summer. On Monday, they added the most prestigious one yet to that list in the form of a top 100 prospect from the home state.
2025 4✮ EDGE Bryce Davis announced via social media that he will officially visit Chapel Hill on the weekend of June 7th. He joins 3✮ CB Onis Konanbanny and unranked WR Malik Clark as those that will visit that weekend.
Davis, the No. 66 overall prospect in the class and No. 3 player in the state according 247Sports Composite player rankings, took his most recent trip to campus on February 3rd for the school’s basketball game against Duke and it was an important one. Before this visit, the Tar Heels were reportedly out of the race for him, but now they are right back in the thick of things thanks to new defensive coordinator Geoff Collins and new defensive line coach Ted Monachino.
While they are back in the race, the staff will have their work cut out for them to ultimately end up landing his commitment. Clemson has established itself as the favorite here as they have with many of the top players in North Carolina in this cycle. The Tar Heels being the first to get an official visit scheduled is encouraging, but they will need to continue to impress Davis every chance they get.
