The Tar Heels just put a bow on their 2025 recruiting class and they have already moved their focus onto the 2026 class.
As first reported by Allen Trieu of 247Sports, 2026 4✮ TE JC Anderson has set his official visit to Chapel Hill for June 5-7. The announcement came after a virtual meeting with Bill Belichick and Freddie Kitchens on Wednesday, following the pair's trip to visit Anderson in person back on January 28th.
Anderson has also set three other official visits. He will visit in-state school Illinois April 11-13, while Auburn will host him June 12-14. He will close out his visit schedule on the weekend of June 19-21 when he takes an official trip to national runner-up Notre Dame.
Anderson just recently finished his junior season at Mt. Zion High School in Mt. Zion, IL where he caught 47 passes for 535 yards and seven touchdowns while helping lead the Braves to the IHSA 4A state title game. The year prior, as a sophomore, he hauled in 30 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns in ten games after catching 15 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown in eight games as a freshman.
When it comes to who has the advantage with him right now, it appears that belongs to the Fighting Illini with the Auburn Tigers close behind. The Tar Heels have some work to do here, but with Belichick in place, it feels like they still have a chance.
