The top schools list just keeps on coming and the Tar Heels just keep on cracking them.

As he announced on his social media pages on Wednesday night, 2026 3✮ TE Landen Miree has narrowed his list down to six schools. The Tar Heels are joined by Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State, LSU and Washington as those left battling for his services.

Miree currently has trips scheduled to five of the six on this list. The Tar Heels will host him starting June 3rd and will also take trips to Auburn (May 30th), Cincinnati (June 6th), Florida State (June 13th) and Washington (June 20th) during a month that will be full of visits.

Miree, the No. 602 overall prospect and No. 30 tight end in the 2026 class according to 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, hails from Princeton High School in Cincinnati, OH. This past season, as a junior, he caught 56 passes for 714 yards and ten touchdowns, all of which were career highs. The year prior, as a sophomore, he hauled in 24 passes for 371 yards of four touchdowns.

As of right now, the Tar Heels have to feel decent about where they stand in this race. According to On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine, Washington has taken a significant lead in this recruitment following spring visit. Luckily, the Huskies will get the last visit in the month of June, so the Tar Heels should get one last shot to turn up the heat on him if they want to.
