Heel Tough Blog: 2025 LB Commit Close to Being Poached By SEC School

Last week, we told you about Alabama pushing to flip 2025 4✮ TE commit Marshall Pritchett Jr. and now another member of this class is close to being poached by an SEC powerhouse.

2025 3✮ LB commit Anthony Kruah, who committed to the Tar Heels back in April, has been recruited hard by the in-state Georgia Bulldogs since they offered him back in May and he has slowly become more and more receptive over the last couple of months. It started back in June when he took his only other official besides his one to Chapel Hill there and peaked the last two weekends, both of which he spent in Athens. It now feels like a matter of time before he makes it official and becomes the first of what could be a handful of decommitments before this recruiting cycle is over.

Losing Kruah would be a significant blow for this Tar Heel recruiting class. As of right now, he is the teams only off-ball linebacker commit and the team doesn’t seem to be closely tied to any of their other offers at this point. The hope is that someone could emerge late after a standout senior year or there is a good chance the team may not have anyone at the position in this class, which would be far from ideal.

These commits looking elsewhere shouldn’t be shocking, especially with the team trending in the wrong direction and the uncertainty around Mack Brown’s future. This was already going to be a small class, but it will probably grow even smaller over the next month and a half.
