One of the Tar Heels' two remaining targets at the wide receiver position is set to announce his commitment tomorrow and cut a school out of that decision earlier this evening.
After initially planning to go into his decision with four schools on the table, 2025 3✮ wide receiver Evan Haynes has eliminated Harvard, leaving just three remaining for him going into tomorrow. The Tar Heels are joined by Georgia Tech and Colorado as the schools that are still alive.
There was hope that the Tar Heels would have been able to turn the heat up late for Haynes after missing on their top remaining target at the position a couple of weeks ago and there is some hope that they were able to do that. The Roswell, GA native spent last weekend with Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets at their cookout event, a trip that was believed to have set the stage for his commitment by Sam Sprigleman of Rivals, who cast a FutureCast in their favor. However, On3 Sports director of recruiting Chad Simmons just cast his prediction following tonight’s announcement in favor of the Tar Heels. It will be interesting to monitor the major recruiting websites overnight and early tomorrow morning to see if the trend continues in favor of Carolina.
Haynes will announce his commitment via his Instagram account tomorrow at 3:00 PM EST from a restaurant in Roswell.
