The Tar Heels handed out a couple of new offers to committed prospects in the 2025 class a couple of weeks and on Monday, one of them officially reopened his recruitment.
2025 3✮ WR Jamien Little announced via social media on Monday afternoon that he was decommitting from Wake Forest, the school to which he had been committed to since March. This comes exactly two weeks to the day since the Tar Heels offered and just a few days before he is scheduled to take his official visit to Chapel Hill. Fellow in-state competitor Duke also remains in the running after hosting him for an official visit back on the weekend of October 26th.
Little, the No. 21 player in the state of North Carolina in the class, is in the midst of his senior season at Hickory High School in Hickory, NC. In ten games so far this season, he caught 39 passes for 808 yards and 12 touchdowns, helping to lead his team to the 3A Western Foothills conference title. This follows a breakout junior season where he finished with 70 catches for 1342 yards and 20 touchdowns as part of a Hickory team that took home the 3A state title.
Right now, the Tar Heels have to be the favorite heading into this weekend. Their offer a couple of weeks ago was what seemed to spur yesterday’s decommitment and a good enough visit over the weekend against the team that he was formerly committed to could be enough to complete the flip by early next week.
