The Tar Heels are still searching for their running back in the 2025 class and they may be close to finding him in the form of their most recent offer at this position.
2025 3✮ RB Demon June Jr. was offered by the Tar Heels back on July 27th and earlier this week, he revealed that he will be committing next week. His announcement will take place next Friday, August 16th, at 4:00 PM in a ceremony at his high school.
The Tar Heels immediately cemented themselves as the favorite for his services when they offered him a couple of weeks ago despite him taking official visits to Georgia Southern and East Carolina back in June. Barring something unforeseen, they will go in as the heavy favorite, especially since he already has familiarity with the campus, having visited last October and this June.
June Jr. may not be ranked, but he is still coming off an extremely productive junior season at Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, NC. He ran for 1,206 yards and 23 touchdowns on just 118 carries on his way to earning Big Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference and Area Player of the Year. That type of production is still plenty to be excited about and should have him ranked sooner rather than later.
