Hubert Davis and his staff are off to a hot start with the 2024 recruiting class, and they are hoping to add to that tomorrow, when five-star shooting guard, Ian Jackson announces his commitment. Davis has already landed the commits of five-star point guard, Elliot Cadeau, along with four-star prospects, James Brown and Drake Powell to put together what is right now the #1 recruiting class for the 2024 cycle. Landing Jackson would be icing on the cake for a class that is very important for the future of Carolina Basketball, under Hubert Davis, as Jackson is considered to be the No. 2 overall player in the class, and is also ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard, according to 247Sports. Factor in that Jackson hails from the Bronx, this is extra important to Davis, who wants to recruit that area heavily moving forward.
Carolina offered Jackson back in early June, and he’s since visited Chapel Hill twice, including earlier this month. He’s also been recruited heavily by Arkansas, and he visited their campus back on January 11th. Arkansas isn’t the only SEC school to be in on Jackson, as John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats are involved in his recruitment as well, but he last visited Lexington back in October. The other known contender for Jackson’s services are the Oregon Ducks, as he was offered and visited Eugene in October as well.
Despite Carolina and Arkansas being the last two schools that Jackson visited, 247Sports still has him committing to Kentucky according to their crystal ball predictions.
